Furthur more, Learning from a mistake once is good. But what when people commit same mistakes over and over and dont realise that they are mistaks? Also turbulence is different from uncomfortable. A death in the family brings turbulence, but it need not bring discomfort.

And regarding the virtual world - it is as you perceive. Its just an image of you. The virtual world gives back what you want to see. If you are in for some gossip, yes there are people who enjoy the same and reciprocate and you share some commonalities. This holds true not just for gossip, but for sharing jokes, stories, cribbing, sharing failures, boasting successes, ranting (even your blogpost now is a rant - where other people either sympathise with your state, or give their own experiences regarding the same situation. It gives you everything you want to see with a limitation of what a mirror gives you. You cannot catch your reflection. Similarly when you start believing that the virtual world should be equal to the real world and why people behave differently in the two different worlds and when you start drawing comparisons, thats where all your questions arise, and thats where you would find the answers too.

Some more questions to increase your confusion :) What is the meaning of a friend. How is it different from acquaintance. If the meaning of friend is what the dictionary says, then why the extra adjectives best friend, chaddi dost, closest friend etc? A friend is a friend right? There is no good friend and bad friend. A persn can be good or bad. But when these adjectives are subjected to a 'friend' both words lose their meaning.

Now coming to answer you. People go through uncomfortable situations only by their choice. If they knew where they were heading, and know what would make them comfortable - they would have chosen that path and avoided the uncomfortableness. If they landed there by mistake - as long as they dont want to be uncomfortable, ether they change the situation to make it comfortable or get away from it, to avoid the uncomfortablity.
